Frequently asked questions

Where is my collection stored?

On the device you are using, in your browser’s storage. It is not uploaded, so it does not sync between devices. To move it, use Export backup on the More screen, then Import backup on the other device.

I cleared my browser and my watches are gone. Can you restore them?

No. We never receive a copy of what you enter, so the only way to restore it is from a backup file you exported earlier.

How do I install Watch Genie on my phone?

On iPhone or iPad, open the site in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu. Once installed, it works offline.

How accurate are the specs?

Each watch was checked against a manufacturer page where one was available, otherwise an established reference database or retailer, and each watch links to its source. If a figure was not listed, we leave it blank rather than guess. Brands update models, so treat the data as of October 2026 and confirm details with the brand or retailer before you buy.

Why are prices shown as ranges?

Prices change often and differ by country, dealer and condition. Bands give you a realistic sense of where a watch sits without promising a figure.

How does the fit check work?

It compares the watch’s lug-to-lug length with the flat top of your wrist, which is roughly 30% of your wrist’s circumference. When a brand does not publish lug-to-lug, we estimate it from the case diameter and say so. It is a guide; trying a watch on is always best.

Do you sell watches?

No. Watch Genie helps you choose and keep track of watches. Some links may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, Vilasi, Inc. may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Is Watch Genie connected to any watch brand?

No. Watch Genie is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any watch brand. Brand names are trademarks of their respective owners.

Plans and purchases

In the iPhone and Android app, Watch Genie Collector is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. To bring your purchases to a new phone, use Restore Purchases on the plans screen in the app. Cancel a subscription any time in your Apple Account or Google Play subscriptions; refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
