Jonah Pruitt Reader Privacy Policy

Published by Vilasi, Inc. · Effective October 12, 2026 · Updated October 13, 2026

Jonah Pruitt Reader is the companion reading app for Jonah Pruitt Fixes Everything by Clint Roberts, for iPhone, iPad and Android.

The short version

Jonah Pruitt Reader does not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal information, from children or from adults. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no social features. Book 1 is free; other books can be unlocked with in-app purchases made by a grown-up behind the parental gate. The app connects to the internet only to handle those purchases (see Purchases below).

Information that stays on the device

To work, the app keeps a small amount of information in its own private storage on the device where it is installed:

  • reading progress and the place in each book
  • words saved to My Words and practice results
  • badges, reading streak and minutes read
  • reading settings (page color, font, text size and similar)
  • an optional first name typed by a parent, used only for the greeting on the Library screen
  • narration recordings made by a parent with the Dad's Voice feature

This information never leaves the device. Vilasi, Inc. cannot see it, receive it or access it. It is removed when the app is deleted. A parent can also clear reading data at any time in the app's Grown-ups area, and delete any recording from the Dad's Voice screen.

Microphone

The app asks for microphone access only when a grown-up chooses to record a chapter in Dad's Voice, which is behind a parental gate. Audio is recorded only while the record button is active, is saved only on the device, and is never uploaded or shared.

Read to me

The Read to me feature uses the text-to-speech voice built into the device's operating system, following the device's own speech settings. The app itself sends nothing to Vilasi, Inc. or to any other company.

Children's privacy

The app is made for children ages 8 to 12. It is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Apple's App Store Kids Category rules and Google Play's Families Policy. The app collects no personal information from children. The only information that leaves the device is the purchase record described under Purchases, linked to a random app ID, never to a child. Parent settings, book unlocking, voice recording and the in-app copy of this policy are behind a parental gate that asks a grown-up math question. Links to the store’s subscription settings and to this policy and the Terms of Use appear only behind the parental gate.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking software. The only outside service is RevenueCat, which processes purchase records for us as described under Purchases; it may not use them for any other purpose.

Purchases

Book 1 is free. A grown-up can unlock more books or join Reader Club in the Grown-ups area, which sits behind the parental gate. Children never see prices or purchase buttons.

Payments are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your card or payment details.

To know which books are unlocked on your family’s devices, the app connects to RevenueCat, Inc., our purchase processor, only for purchases. RevenueCat receives the purchase record from the store (which book or plan, when it was bought and when a plan renews or ends) together with a random app ID created on the device. It does not receive the reader’s name, reading progress, saved words, recordings or any other information from the app, and no attributes or device identifiers are sent. Purchase information is used only to unlock what was bought, not for advertising or tracking, and is not sold.

A parent can manage or cancel Reader Club in the Apple Account or Google Play settings, and use Restore Purchases in the Grown-ups area on a new device. To ask for purchase records to be deleted, write to us at robert@vilasigrowth.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted with a new effective date before the change applies, and the app's store listing will be updated to match.
