What you enter stays on your device
Cellar Companion has no accounts. The bottles, tasting notes, wishlist entries and imported files you add are saved in your browser or phone storage on your device. We do not receive them and the app does not upload them. Importing a CSV file reads it on your device only. Because your cellar lives only on your device, we cannot recover it for you. Use the export option under Your data to keep a backup. Clearing browser data or deleting the app erases it.
Alcohol
Cellar Companion is a record-keeping and information app for adults of legal drinking age. It does not sell or deliver alcohol. Please drink responsibly.
Visits to our website
When you visit the Cellar Companion website, the hosting service we use loads a visitor-identification tool. It stores an identifier in your browser, records the pages you view, and may match your visit with information from third-party data providers, which can include contact and demographic details, so we can recognize visitors and follow up. It may also use advertising-measurement tools from companies such as Meta and Google. A notice on the website lets you opt out, and we treat a browser Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out. Visitors in Europe and the UK are asked before anything runs. You can also opt out, or ask what we hold about you, by emailing us at the address above. This applies to the website, not to what you enter in the app.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription or an in-app purchase in the iPhone or Android app, the payment is handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. To know what you have bought on any of your devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that keeps a record of your purchases (product, date, store receipt) linked to a random app user ID. It does not include your name or email, and it is not used for advertising or tracking.
Your choices
You can export or erase everything at any time under Your data. You can also write to us with any question.
Changes
If we add accounts, syncing or anything that sends information off your device, we will update this policy first and ask before it applies to you.
